NGC 6207. - Only one lambda6563 photograph was obtained of this galaxy so that the HII regions identified have not been checked by an OFF Halpha comparison. The dust sketched in the drawing was identified from a 200-inch 103 a-E photograph kindly loaned by Dr. Allan Sandage.

Weedman and Carswell (1974) have recently commented on the "apparent stellar nucleus of the galaxy" and by photometric (apertures 8" and 15") and spectroscopic (trailed spectrum with slit 2" x 2".5 entrance aperture) means have confirmed that the apparent stellar nucleus is a foreground star. Presumably these authors are referring to the relatively bright star marked by a cross in the drawing. On the basis of the spiral distribution of dust and on the intensity distribution on the Halpha plate, it appears that the true nucleus of this late-type Sc spiral is some 2" south of the star.
