NGC 6181. - Burbidge et al. (1965a) have found a "hump" in the rotation curve about 8" SE of the nucleus in position angle 153°. This region (designated Region A by them) does not appear to have strong Halpha; the velocities were obtained principally for lambda3727, Hgamma, and Hdelta. Region A is clearly seen as a bright blue region inside the primary dust lane but is not noticeable in the Halpha photograph. Burbidge et al's. (1965a) spectra taken in other position angles confirm the identification of the HII regions plotted in the drawing.
