Resumen. Discuto algunos de los resultados presentados en este simposio sobre: nebulosas planetarias, regiones H II, evolución química de galaxias y la determinación de la abundancia primordial de helio. Para tener una visión más general de este simposio recomiendo leer todos los artículos incluidos en este volumen.

Abstract. In this summary I review some of the results presented in this symposium relative to: planetary nebulae, H II regions, chemical evolution of galaxies, and the determination of the primordial helium abundance. To get a more general perspective of this symposium I encourage you to read all the contributions to these proceedings.
