NGC 4826. - Sandage describes NGC 4826 as the earliest Sb shown in the Hubble atlas. Rubin et al. (1965) have detected the rotation of the inner part of the galaxy and report the detection of emission lines H and [NII] in the central regions coincident with the prominent dust lanes. The H photograph reveals a string of bright HII regions embedded in the heavy dust.
